Prince George gets a sibling: Duchess Catherine, Prince William expecting second baby

Prince George is about to get a brother or sister. The Royal Family officially announced Monday morning that Prince William and Duchess Catherine are expecting their second child.

The Monarchy issued a statement on Facebook, noting that the Prince’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and “members of both families are delighted with the news.”

In addition, the Duchess will not go with Prince William to a previously scheduled event in Oxford, since she is dealing with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, as she did while pregnant with George. The Royal Family said that she is being treated by Kensington Palace doctors.

Back in December 2012, William and Kate announced that they were pregnant with their first child, who was born in July 2013. To mark Prince George’s first birthday, the baby was seen taking steps in a new official photo. He sure is going to be happy to have a sibling around.

It was rumored over the summer that Kate might be expecting again and today’s announcement confirmed the news.

We wish the Royal couple the best!
