Taylor Kitsch claims he is a part of 'True Detective' season 2

Taylor Kitsch is claiming he is in HBO's True Detective 2, despite no confirmation on HBO's part.

In an interview with Adweek, Kitsch oozes excitement about the upcoming role.

“I’m really excited,” Kitsch said. “I’ve just been prepping … it was tough to sit a year out, keeping a finger crossed that I was going to get True (Detective) … it was just showing a lot of patience on my end and turning a lot of stuff down because I wanted to be a part of it … So I’m excited. I loved that first season of it so much. It’s just unlike anything I’ve seen in, you know, I don’t know when. And it was so grounded. It could really happen. This is very similar, and I love that. It makes it more relatable. It makes these guys more real.”

The Canadian actor has been seen in films such as Snakes on a Plane, Battleship, and most recently Lone Survivor. His breakout role came in television as running back Tim Riggins on Friday Night Lights.

If Kitsch is indeed a part of the new season, then it only adds to the star-studded cast that is already confirmed (Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell.)

The second season of True Detective is still without a premiere date, but due to timing it seems the summer of 2015 is the likely landing spot, notes Entertainment Weekly.
