Buffalo Bills mistakenly direct fans to call domestic violence center

The Buffalo Bills football team accidentally overwhelmed the phone lines of a domestic violence crisis center.

On Friday morning, the Buffalo News noted that the Bills gave out an incorrect number to ticketholders seeking a refund or credit for the team’s upcoming game.

As previously reported, on Sunday the Bills were supposed to host the New York Jets at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo. However, with accumulating snow added to the several feet the city was hammered with earlier in the week, the NFL moved the game to Monday night at Ford Field in Detroit.

After the announcement, anyone who purchased tickets and is unable to travel to the relocated site was given a number to call for a refund. The digits posted on the team’s website were one digit off, and callers were connected to a domestic violence crisis center in Ohio.

The center was flooded with so many calls that it asked the team to give fans the correct number.

The number to the ticket office has since been updated on the Bills’ website. For the record, it is 1-877-228-4257.
