Boater found alive after being stranded at sea for 12 days (Video)

A 67-year-old man, who had been stranded at sea for 12 days, more than 60 miles south of Hawaii, has been found.

The Associated Press reported that amazingly Ron Ingraham was not injured, just weak and dehydrated when he was rescued by a Navy ship on Tuesday.

Rescue crews initially started searching for Ingraham and his 25-foot sailboat when he first put out a mayday call on Nov. 27, but that search was suspended on Dec. 1. However, the Coast Guard received another distress call Tuesday and the guided-missile destroyer USS Paul Hamilton located him.

"Both his masts was broken. He was sailing on a little auxiliary sail, trying to make his way back," his friend Dedrick Manaba told Hawaii News Now.

The Coast Guard said his boat is being towed back to the Hawaiian island of Molokai, where he is from.

"Twelve days, man. He's a champ! He's tough!" Zakary Ingraham said after learning that his father was found safe.
