Chris Hemsworth says he had 'no empathy' for brother Liam for 'reckless' behavior, hints disapproval of Miley Cyrus engagement

Chris Hemsworth, this year’s People’s Sexiest Man Alive, is happily married to Elsa Pataky with three children, but his brother Liam Hemsworth has a completely different love life.

The Thor star, 31, admitted he had no “empathy” for his younger brother, 24, for the sometimes “reckless” behavior he was exhibiting but he was quickly put into place by his mother, who reminded him that he was the same age when he was Liam’s age.

"I've watched Liam do things I did at his age, like being in relationships he shouldn't be in, or being reckless just to prove a point," he told GQ.

He’s likely referring to the Hunger Games star’s engagement to Miley Cyrus, which ended in September of last year. They started dating in 2010 and got engaged in 2012.

Before meeting Pataky and starting a family with her, Chris said he was pretty wild as a young Australian soap opera star.

“The fame, the parties, the women -- I did that stuff back home. I got away with a lot more over there. Then I came here -- and sort of started over,” he said.

The oldest Hemsworth brother, Luke, helped him snap out of it though. He called himself “insecure,” “angsty” and “full of anxiety.

“I spent years being angsty, constantly telling people I wasn't just part of a soap opera, that I was a real artist," he said. "And I remember Luke sort of snapping, telling me to shut up, that he was sick of hearing it."

Now, Chris said he gets help from his friend Matt Damon, who’s a “normal guy” with “the movie-star thing figured out."
