Rolling Stone reported that back in May, Collins took the stage with students at the Miami Country Day School with a performance that featured some of his greatest hits. Afterwards, he said that he would be performing at his own fundraising gala, which would benefit his own Little Dreams Foundation.

Collins made it clear that this would not be a full concert, but it would feature a few songs.

During the fundraising gala, Collins went out and addressed the crowd, saying that he would not be performing because of "a neurological affliction" that he had been dealing with during the past few days, Miami.com added. The singer further explained that the soundcheck also didn't go well.

The audience had hoped that Collins would still perform, but instead he persisted that they really "wouldn't enjoy it."

It has been unclear if Collins is heading towards retirement, but this performance was a sign that at least Collins still wants to perform.

The last time the Genesis singer released an album of new material was almost 12 years ago with Testify.
