School of Rock told the story of Jack Black, who posed as a substitute teacher at a fancy prep school. Instead of teaching the children about their regular subjects, Black turns the classroom into a rock 'n' roll band.

The Broadway show will be adapted by Julian Fellowers, who is known for working on Downtown Abbey. Fellowers has written the stage musical of Mary Poppins. The Rock show will be directed by Laurence Connor, who recently co-directed the latest run of Les Miserables on Broadway.

Box Office Mojo reported that School of Rock has made over $131 million dollars worldwide at the box office.
