'The Voice' top 5 perform

With only four episodes left this season on The Voice, the competition is down to the wire. These performances from our top five vocalists will decide who advances to the finale. Tonight the coaches were able to pick one song for their team members to sing and the vocalists picked a song selection that honors their hometowns. After these semi-finals, three finalists will advance to perform the title of The Voice.

Opening the show was coach Blake Shelton and Ashley Monroe performing their recent hit “Lonely Tonight,” which is featured on Shelton’s Bringing Back The Sunshine.

First up for the night was Damien from Team Adam. Levine selected the first song for Damien and he picked “She’s Out Of My Life” by Michael Jackson. This is not a well-known song by Jackson but it is an incredibly emotional vocal. Shelton kicked off the comments by saying this performance was another step up the ladder and it was a great job. Williams added that every time Damien sings he tells more of his own story and he is truly happy for him. Stefani added that doing Jackson was super dangerous but that performance was beautiful and gorgeous. Levine said that Damien trusted in him as a coach once and this song was the best thing Damien could do.

Coach Adam added that he was very proud of him and that it is impressive that he is in the top five right now.

After the coaches’ selections concluded, it was up to the vocalists to pick a song that honored their hometown and everyone who they have cheering them on in this competition. Coach Gwen said that he really deserves to move forward and that he is a true artist.

Closing out the night was Chris Jamison from Team Adam. Jamison sang “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars for his final performance in the semi-finals. The song left Levine on his feet cheering on his vocalist. Williams added that everyone back home is still standing on their feet for Jamison. Stefani said that tonight was his best performance by far. Levine commented that he always hesitates with a Mars tune because of how talented he is but everyone felt that this was his own version of the song and he made amazing progress.

The results will be announced tomorrow on NBC and the wild card element of the show will be featured! An eliminated vocalist will have the chance to return to the finals.
