Top 10 moments from 'Arrow' episode 'The Brave and The Bold'

Last night’s episode of Arrow featured Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin arriving to give Oliver Queen a hand, much to his dismay as they tried to capture a dangerous criminal.

Taking place a week after Oliver’s visit to work with Barry, he is going after Digger Harkness, a man who puts the city in danger by putting five bombs in the area and they have to figure out how to save the city from destruction. In the meantime, we also saw some development between Johnny and Lyla, especially after a boomerang weapon critically injures Lyla when the girls are under attack.

Flash and Arrow have some difficulty with each other’s methods, especially when Flash sees Arrow torture a guy for information. We find out from flashbacks that Queen didn’t use to do this, until he was unable to stop a suicide bomber. He doesn’t feel like he has much humanity left in him until a talk with Flash makes him think otherwise.

Since this was my first time watching Arrow, it was exciting to get to know these characters and see how they worked. Plus, seeing the excitement on Cisco’s face as he saw the new toys was too adorable for words. Let’s take a look at the top ten moments from Arrow’s episode “The Brave and the Bold.”

Flashbacks show how in earlier years, Oliver didn’t use torture methods until a suicide bomber made him rethink his strategy.

[new page= Proposal]

8. Proposal

All this episode, Johnny and Lyla deny claims that they are married, since Barry seems to think this is true. But when Lyla is severely injured, a romantic moment between the two cements their feelings for each other. Johnny proposes to her in her hospital bed and boy, is it a swoon worthy moment!

7. Paperweights

With Flash’s arrival, Felicity and the team are having trouble getting used to the new speed, especially when her papers begin flying all over the place. She bemoans needing paperweights and Caitlin quips that she did say this happens.

6. Sushi

At one point after all the running he has done, Barry says he is hungry and goes to get food, coming back and allowing his identity to be seen by Lyla. She wasn’t in the know about him being a superhero and he awkwardly asks if she wants some sushi. Just another moment where we see how cute the Flash is.

5. Lyla shot with a boomerang

While Caitlin, Felicity, and Lyla are working, Harkness shows up and attacks them with boomerangs. The girls are able to hold their own until Lyla is hit. Felicity is horrified as she works to save her friend.

4. Cisco and Caitlin

Our adorable duo from The Flash are extremely excited to be at what they term the ‘Arrow cave,’ much to Queen’s annoyance. Cisco is excited as he thinks of ways their costumes and toys could be improved, and later he even presents Arrow with a lighter-weight outfit so he can have more movement. It’s only when we find out later that Harrison Wells never allowed them time off that we see just how excited they were to come to the city.

[new page= Diffusing the bomb]

3. Diffusing the bomb

With help from the team, Flash is able to get to where one of the bombs is located. However, he discovers from the others that there is a transmitter that would trigger the other bombs if it was disabled. He is unable to be in five places at once, but then gets the idea to grab his friends and send them to all the locations where the bombs are. They are able to diffuse the bombs after Cisco tells them they all need to cut at the same time right as he says the word ‘three.’

[new page= Humanity]

2. Humanity

At the end of the episode, Barry tells Oliver that he still has some humanity left in him, even though he doesn’t think he does. It’s a very sweet moment between the two after having to deal with their conflicting feelings about how to get things done when it comes to getting information and dealing with bad guys.

[new page= Unfinished business]

1. Unfinished business

The final scene shows us that Barry and Oliver have some “unfinished business” to deal with and we see they are going to once again practice having Arrow shoot arrows at Flash as he runs toward him. While we don’t see the final result, you can tell Flash is more than determined to hold his own.
