Top 10 performances from season 7 of ‘The Voice’

The top five has been announced on this season of NBC’s hit reality show The Voice. Coaches Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams and Blake Shelton have been working with their team members to create magical, impressive and chart-topping performances week after week.

The vocal talent this season has ranged from a soulful R&B singer to an indie singer who can transform current chart topping hits into unrecognizable new masterpieces. Last week on the live performance show, coach Shelton said that this was probably the best group of talent that they have seen so far in the entire series.

TheCelebrityCafe.com is counting down the top ten Voice performances from this season so far. 10. Anita Antoinette-Let Her Go

Anita Antoinette impressed with her unique reggae style. She stayed true to her musical roots and style but was able to take a chart-topping hit like “Let Her Go” by Passenger and made the song sound new again. She had energy, passion and genuineness in every performance.

9. Reagan James-Fancy

Reagan James made a shocking song choice when she picked to perform “Fancy” by Iggy Azalea. It is rare that such a fast paced song with rap portions would be a performance piece on The Voice but James blew it out of the water. She put her own spin on the song and was able to make this pop song her own. She impressed audiences and the coaches with her selection.

8. Luke Wade-Stand By Me

Luke Wade started out strong in his time on The Voice with an impression blind audition and knockout round performance but when he sang “Stand By Me,” he showcased what he was able to do as a vocalist and as a storyteller.

7. Chris Jamison-Jealous

Chris Jamison impressed with his smooth vocal range and stunning good looks. It wasn’t until his performance of Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” that he really mesmerized the audiences both in studio and at home. This type of song allowed him to show off what type of musical style and record he would make after the show. He utilized the songs high energy and smooth vocal runs to really highlight that he is a threat in the competition.

6. DaNica Shirey- I'd Rather Go Blind

DaNica Shirey, was one of the last remaining women in the competition and captivated with her incredible vocal range and pure power. She never held back and left everything on the stage even in this one of her last performances. She sang “I’d Rather Go Blind” and really showcased how powerful her voice is and her ability to tell a story through her performances.

5. Ryan Sill-Heaven

Ryan Sill, a member of Team Gwen, was one of the younger contestants but still held his own when he found his groove with classic rock songs. He really showcased his talent and ability to sing when he took on “Heaven” by Bryan Adams.

4. Taylor John Williams-Royals

Taylor John Williams performed “Royals” by Lorde and blew the performance out of the water. It was subtle, changed and beautifully different. The performance also did well on the iTunes charts. This season has really shown the ability of the current vocalists to take well-known songs and make it their own.

3. Craig Wayne Boyd-I Walk The Line

Craig Wayne Boyd, a current member of Team Blake and a top five vocalist, has performed country classics and more current hits, all showing off his deep vocal range and ability to make country music sound brand new. Boyd took a large risk when he sang a changed version of Johnny Cash’s classic “I Walk The Line.” The risk paid off and he showed off what an impressive artist he is.

2. Damien-Someone Like You

Damien, a current TSA agent, performed an emotional and powerful version of “Someone Like You” by Adele. It was clear that Damien put everything he had into that performance and left all of his emotion on the stage. Not only did the performance showcase Damien’s vocal range but also showed off what an artist he is.

1. Matt McAndrew-The Blowers Daughter

Matt McAndrew came in second place on the iTunes charts when he sang “The Blowers Daughter,” right behind Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space.” McAndrew wasn’t one of the major stands out in the competition until this performance, which launched him into first place and an instant front-runner. The performance was beautiful, haunting and powerful.
