Black Crowes split after 24 years because of frontman Chris Robinson and brother Rich's feud

The Black Crowes have split after 24 years together and Rich Robinson is putting the blame on his brother and frontman, Chris Robinson.

They haven’t released a new album since 2009’s Before the Frost...Until the Freeze, though they did tour in 2013. They have released nine albums in their career.

Rich told Rolling Stone in a statement, "It is with great disappointment and regret after having the privilege of writing and performing the music of the Black Crowes over the last 24 years, I find myself in the position of saying that the band has broken up."

He went on to note the impact being in the band has had on his life, but admits his feud with brother Chris is what has ended the band.

“I love my brother and respect his talent, but his present demand that I must give up my equal share of the band and that our drummer for 28 years and original partner, Steve Gorman, relinquish 100 percent of his share, reducing him to a salaried employee, is not something I could agree to,” he said.

Daily News notes Chris, who was previously married to actress Kate Hudson, has been touring with his own band.

Since their first hit in 1990, the Black Crowes have broken up twice due to the Robinson brothers’ feud.
