Emotions high during second day of Aaron Hernandez murder trial

Tears flowed for the second day in the courtroom where ex-New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez’s murder trial is underway in Massachusetts.

The Associated Press reported that the mother of Odin Lloyd, the man Hernandez is accused of killing, left the courtroom in tears after photos were shown of her son’s lifeless body. The images the prosecution displayed showed Lloyd on his back with his fingers clenched over the bullet wounds in his chest.

"This person was laying on their back, face up," Capt. John White told the jury. "He had no pulse. He was cold to the touch. He was very stiff. You couldn't move his jaw, couldn't move his arms."

ABC News noted that some of the information given became too much for a few of the victim’s family members and they had to walk out.

On Thursday, the prosecution said the evidence they have in the trial includes DNA traces on a shell casing, a footprint at an industrial park and a text message.

Hernandez once had a $40 million contract as a tight end with the Patriots. Fast forward two years and he is standing trial for murder while his former team is getting ready to take on the Seattle Seahawks Sunday in Super Bowl XLIX.

He also has another trial coming up in which he is accused of killing two men outside a Boston Nightclub in 2012.
