Sacha Baron Cohen comedy 'Grimsy' delayed until 2016

Sacha Baron Cohen fans better not expect to see the actor/writer's latest, Grimsby, in a theater near them this year, as the new comedy has just been delayed from summer 2015 to early 2016.

The news comes from a tweet by Exhibitor Relations, found on Slashfilm.

Originally, Grimsby was set to hit theaters on July 31, 2015. Taking its place is the Jake Gyllenhaal-starring boxing movie Southpaw. Also set to be released on this date is Self/Less, and the remake of Point Break.

So far, Grimsby's only competition is MGM's remake of Ben-Hur. While February and January release dates where initially the kiss of death from a studio, recent hits like The Lego Movie, Paddington and the upcoming Kingsman: The Secret Service are proving it to be a more organic time for movie releases.

Also starring Mark Strong, Ian McShane, Penelope Cruz, Rebel Wilson, Gabourey Sidibe and Isla Fisher and directed by Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me), Grimsby centers on a soccer hooligan who goes on the run with his once-estranged brother (Strong), a British black-ops. All that is seen from the movie is this this behind-the-scenes look. The movie also upset the town of its namesake.
