Taylor Swift's '1989' passes 'Frozen' as top-selling album of 2014

Taylor Swift might have looked cold on New Year’s Eve, but her career is nothing but. Her latest album, 1989, has been so hot that it thawed Frozen’s hold on the music industry.

1989 finished the year with an astonishing 3.66 million copies sold in 2014, just since its release in late October. That just passes Disney’s Frozen soundtrack, which sold 3.53 million copies since the start of 2014, reports Billboard.

Swift’s new album, which features the smash hits “Blank Space” and “Shake It Off,” finished the year at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 326,000 copies sold. It has spent seven non-consecutive weeks at the top of the chart and is selling at a pace not seen since Usher’s 2004 hit album Confessions.

This is actually the second time Swift has had the best-selling album of the year. Her 2009 album Fearless accomplished the same feat with 3.22 million copies sold.

Here’s the Top 10 best-selling albums of 2014:
