Top 10 moments from 'Criminal Minds' episode 'Anonymous'

The latest episode of Criminal Minds focused on a case in which the unsub would call 911 before killing his victims. As the case continued, the team determines the unsub was trying to get the victims help for an unknown reason. But once another victim loses their life and there is no attempt to rescue him, it becomes clear to the BAU exactly what is going on.

As the case is going on, Rossi is getting ready to visit his daughter, Joy, when he finds out that an old friend of his has passed away. The actor who portrayed Harrison Scott, Meshach Taylor, had passed on and this episode, directed by actor Joe Mantegna, focused on his tribute as well.

This episode was done really well and showed a wide range of emotions from our cast. There was a small moment with Rossi’s daughter that made us question what she was thinking, but she shared sweet moments as she supported her dad through mourning his friend.

10. Calling Joy

Rossi calls Joy to let her know what is going on when he finds out his friend has passed. She urges him to do what he has to do and eventually, she comes to support him. It’s a sweet scene to show this new relationship between father and daughter, and how supportive she is.

9. Case

Penelope gives the team their case, without Rossi and Hotch in the room. At this point, they only know that someone is leaving people in places where they could theoretically get help before killing them.

8. Motive

We gain an insight into the unsub’s motive throughout the case. From scenes in his home, we discover his daughter is dying and needs a liver transplant. He has been trying to find people who are organ donors and get them to the hospital before he kills them, wanting them to be able to give organs.

7. Losing a friend

Rossi is getting ready to visit his daughter when Garcia tells him that a friend of his has passed away. In a touching scene, Rossi talks to the man’s son about his father and learns he had bone cancer. Apparently, his friend had wanted to regain contact with his family because he knew he was dying.

6. Finding his friends

After asking Penelope not to tell the team about what happened to his friend, Rossi calls her later on to ask her for help finding the men who fought with them in the war. Penelope has a cute moment where she worries that when she covered for him to Morgan that the agent knew she was lying because of how she looked.

5. Elimination

The case takes a turn with a young man is found shot and killed without a 911 call being placed. Reid and Kate notice that the victim is obviously very ill and after contacting Garcia, they find out he was high on the waiting list for a transplant. This leads them to conclude their unsub killed an individual to help someone get a chance for an organ.

4. Father and daughter

Rossi and his daughter, Joy, have a father/daughter moment when she sees him sitting on a bench where he once sat with his recently deceased friend.

3. Hotch figures it out

While working the case, the team were trying to find out how the unsub knew his victims were organ donors. Hotch begins going over the evidence, especially when he realizes that the victims had to go to the DMV at some point, meaning the unsub worked there.

Organ

In the end, the organ that eventually goes to the unsub’s daughter turns out to be his own. Despite being rejected due to high blood pressure, after he kills himself when the team stops him, she is taken in for surgery without the knowledge of who gave her a new liver.

1. Memorial

Rossi plans a memorial service for his good friend, whose son is also present with his family. Penelope was able to track down the people who were in his platoon so that they could come to the service as well.
