Bill Cosby postpones California show, no explanation given

The media firestorm surrounding Bill Cosby may have died down, but that doesn’t mean anyone has forgotten the cloud of suspicion that hangs over him. That means that his shows are often cancelled or postponed, as is the case with tonight’s show in Bakersfield, California.

Fox News pointed out that the show was supposed to take place at the Fox Theater in Bakersfield, northwest of Los Angeles. No explanation was given on the venue’s site and Cosby’s rep did not issue a statement.

Cosby was also scheduled to perform at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh, but the venue said on Tuesday that the show was cancelled, reports The Post-Gazette.

The former Cosby Show star’s next scheduled shows are at the Belk Theater in Charlotte on Feb. 22.

When Cosby does wind up performing, his representatives release a statement before the show, promising that he’s ready to give the audience “family, fun entertainment.” The same statement was released before shows in Denver and Boston.

Over 20 women have accused Cosby of rape and drugging them. Last month, model Chloe Goins claimed that Cosby assaulted her in 2008 and met with the LAPD.
