'General Hospital' Weekly Recap: Feb. 23 to Feb. 27

Maxie walked into Kelly's and caught Spinelli informing Nathan that he wanted her back. She already knew this, much to Nathan’s dismay. They then bickered about it and Nathan accused her of leaving him in the dark. He was still miffed about the Johnny thing, but admitted that he overreacted to her little felony. "And it's not like you're still in love with Spinelli," he said with a guffaw. The look on Maxie's face suggested otherwise. She then insisted that she wasn't but Nathan doubted it. He then left her to figure out her true feelings.

Jake/Jason woke up in his hospital bed. Elizabeth asked for his real name. He replied that he could recall remembering his real name, but didn’t remember what he remembered. Patrick then came in and confirmed that the chip in Jake/Jason’ s head was all gone.

Spencer was at Sonny's, telling him how happy he was to see him out of prison. Sonny then grabbed a birthday gift for him. It was an outfit for his party. Spencer then told Sonny how great he was and left. Later, Shawn dropped by and they talked about Carly. Sonny explained how close Carly had gotten to Jake/Jason. Shawn then filled him in about dumping the mayoral ballot box and Sonny ordered him to keep an eye on Jake/Jason. They then discussed how trustworthy Jordan was. After Shawn left, Carly showed up and told him that she was still friends with Jake/Jason.

Anna showed up at Jordan's, told her that the government didn't indict her (Anna) and that they gave her Sloane's old job instead. She added that she planned to get the dirt on him and the people he was working for. They then went over the evidence and realized that the ballot box must have been tampered with at Wyndemere. Anna doubted that Nikolas would have been involved. Jordan admitted it might be hard for her to turn Shawn in. Anna also admitted that she still had feelings for Duke too, but that they still had jobs to do. Once Anna left, Shawn showed up and wondered what Anna was doing there. She explained that Anna was now a Fed and that she was just harassing her.

At Wyndemere Nikolas showed Spencer his birthday decorations. Spencer called Nikolas, “The Best Father in the World.” Soon, the party started. Cameron, Josslyn and Emma bickered until the DJ introduced Spencer. He entered in a tux and boxing gear. He thanked everyone for coming and then called Emma “the love of his life.” Later, Cameron dumped Emma for Josslyn because she understood his art and loved him. Before he left, Cameron knocked a goodie bag into a candle. It slowly caught fire as Spencer and Emma danced.

At Julian’s place, Alexis told Julian that she couldn’t stop thinking about Ned and the baby he was having with Olivia. She thought that Ned could be lying to protect Olivia given he had done the same thing for her when she was pregnant with Kristina. Julian didn’t think Ned was stupid enough to pull the same stunt twice and he thought of Olivia as a straight shooter who wouldn’t lie about such a thing. The two then discussed how both of them missed out on so much of their own children’s lives. Alexis then told Julian that if he never got the chance to be a father again at least he had the chance to be a great grandfather to Danny.

At Kelly’s, Olivia stole Ned’s slice of apple pie and asked him what he was thinking claiming to be the father of her baby. Ned admitted that he didn’t consider the long-term ramifications, but he had no regrets and said that he would stand by her and the baby. Olivia thanked him.

Elizabeth arrived home where Ric was waiting for her. Ric wanted to talk about Jake/Jason, who he felt was still dangerous. The two argued about Jake/Jason and Ric admitted that he crossed a line trying to get him to plead guilty. He then added that he had just gotten her back after months in the witness protection program and was afraid of losing her again. Elizabeth replied that what he did reminded her of the man he was years ago, the one she thought was gone. Ric then swore that he wouldn’t go back to being that man, but he wanted her to be honest and asked if she had feelings for Jake/Jason. Before she could answer Cameron walked in, having just been dropped off by Lucas. Elizabeth sent him up to bed and she told Ric that she was tired and wanted to go to bed too. Ric told Elizabeth that he still loved her and wanted them to work out. He also said that it wasn’t lost on him that she couldn’t answer his question about Jake/Jason. Then, he left. Later, Cameron looked through his goodie bag from the party with Elizabeth and opened up about breaking up with Emma.

Sam visited with Jake/Jason at GH. He told her that he didn’t remember anything that came to him right before the surgery. He was hoping he would wake up with memories, but he didn’t and now thought he may never know who he was. They then discussed if he could have a family out there. Then, Sam remembered how she felt not knowing if Jason was still alive after Faison shot him. She hated the thought of another woman going through what she did, so she promised to help find out who he was. She then told him that Nikolas may be able to find out from Helena about his past. Jake/Jason thanked her.

Patrick dropped by Wyndemere to pick up Emma. He and Nikolas talked about the kids for a bit until Nikolas finally started asking about Jake/Jason’s surgery. Patrick told Nikolas that he woke up with no memory of who he was. Patrick wondered why Nikolas cared so much about Jake/Jason. Nikolas then recounted he lost his memory once and how he couldn’t help but wonder if Jake had loved ones waiting for him to come home. Patrick didn’t know, but he said it was late and he should get Emma and head home.

Meanwhile, in the living room, Emma and Spencer were trapped when the fire got out of control. They escaped, but Spencer realized he left his boxing robe behind and ran back to get it. Then, part of the roof collapsed and trapped Spencer in the room. Emma ran to get Nikolas and Patrick to help. Back in the room, Spencer tried to beat the flames down with his robe, but it just caught fire. Patrick got Emma out of the house and called for help while Nikolas rushed into the living room to look for Spencer. Patrick returned with a fire extinguisher to help Nikolas, who became trapped as well. Nikolas managed to find an unconscious Spencer, and with Patrick's help they got Spencer out. Spencer remained unconscious as the sounds of ambulances and fire trucks approached. Nikolas asked Patrick if Spencer was still alive.

Duke ran into Anna at Kelly’s and the two bickered about Julian’s release from prison. Anna said the charges against Julian had been dropped. Duke replied that if the authorities wouldn’t deal with Julian then he would. Duke then stormed off and Anna got a call.

At the PCPD, Nathan and Dante were talking when Luke was brought into the squad room. Luke told Dante that the minute he got out he would use the first chance he got to get rid of him, Lulu and their son. Nathan held Dante back from attacking Luke just as Diane walked in and told Dante to step away from her client. Diane was appalled that Luke had been held for days without council and she demanded that a bail hearing be set immediately. They then arranged for him to have a hearing first thing in the morning. Later, Diane spoke with Luke in private. He warned her that he was depending on her and that she didn’t want to find out what happened when he was disappointed. Then, Dante and Nathan arrived to take him back to his cell. Luke used the opportunity to threaten Nathan and his loved ones.

Spinelli and Maxie argued at her place about where he would spend the night. He wanted to bunk on her couch, but she demanded he leave her apartment after the stunts he had pulled. She didn’t want to give Nathan the wrong idea, but Spinelli thought Maxie was more worried about what could happen if he stayed the night. She eventually tossed him out, but he said that he wasn’t giving up on them being a family. After he left, Maxie looked at photos of both Spinelli and Nathan.

Spencer was brought into GH with Nikolas at his side. Lucas tended to him as Patrick and Emma arrived to see how Spencer was. Later Patrick called Anna and he asked her to come get Emma. Meanwhile, Nikolas was forced out of the exam room as the doctors worked to save Spencer. Patrick tried to calm Nikolas down and offered to find out what he could. Nikolas made a call to Alexis and she arrived to comfort him. Meanwhile, Anna arrived to take care of Emma. Then, Patrick came out and updated them on Spencer, who was sedated and had severed burns on the right side of his body. Nikolas was allowed to go see Spencer, who was unconscious and on a ventilator.

Tracy and Lulu waited and Lulu’s place to hear back from Bobbie, who was trying to track down her sister Patricia. When Bobbie arrived she told them that had run into dead ends. Tracy then asked Bobbie to tell them what drove Patricia away. Bobbie said that she was so young when they left that house, and all she remembered was that her father was a rotten drunk. Bobbie then added that when their mother died, their father took off and she and Luke moved in with Ruby, but Patricia didn’t come with them. She then said that Ruby always changed the subject when Patricia was brought up and Luke always would tell her to forget that she existed. Lulu suggested they hire a PI to find Patricia. As they all discussed which PI to hire when there was a knock at the door and it was Spinelli.

Back at Julian’s place, Duke arrived to make Julian an offer. Duke asked Julian to hand over his territories to him and simply walk away with the fresh start he had been given. Julian refused and warned Duke that he had learned a lot these past few months and that he wasn’t the same Julian he knew. Duke replied that he would bury him regardless and then stormed out.

Kiki had lunch with Morgan and Silas at Kelly’s. Silas excused himself and talked with Nathan at the bar about Nina’s upcoming hearing, as well as the search for Ava’s body. Meanwhile, Kiki had no appetite and was focused on planning Ava’s memorial service. She hoped her mom would be okay with her not suing Sonny for custody. Morgan then shocked her with the news that Michael was suing for custody instead. Kiki was angry as Michael had no right. Morgan replied that it was all about Michael wanting revenge on Sonny.

At Shadybrook, Nina visited with Franco, who was still in restraints. He was glad to see her, but called her Phyllis. She said her name was Nina, but he thought she was Phyllis from Wisconsin and talked about how she was always scheming and getting into trouble.

Michael met Alexis at the courthouse, though the hearing wasn’t for hours. Alexis had a prior case to attend to and told Michael that he needed to calm himself down. She then said that if he loses it on the stand then it wouldn’t be good for their case, so she suggested he go find some nice herbal tea to drink.

At Sonny’s place, Carly broke the news to Sonny that Spencer was in a fire last night. Sonny wanted to go to GH to see him, but Carly told him that he had to focus on the hearing. Then, Ric walked in and said that Diane couldn’t make it so she sent him to be their lawyer. He then told Sonny that they have had their differences, but he owed him and promised to fight like hell for him. Carly had reservations about Ric, but Sonny agreed to let Ric represent him.

At GH, Elizabeth sat with Nikolas as they waited for news. Then, Obrecht showed up to give them an update on Spencer, but Nikolas wanted her nowhere near his son. Obrecht then said that Britt loved Spencer and that her son Nathan was family. Nikolas then whispered to Obrecht that Helena had informed him that Victor wasn’t Nathan’s father, so she shouldn’t try and play him. When Elizabeth intervened in their fight, Nikolas asked Obrecht to just tell him what she knew. She replied that she had spoken with the doctors and felt that Spencer should be taken to Shriners Children’s Hospital in Boston for the best possible care. Nikolas agreed so arrangements were made to transfer him. Later, he went in to see Spencer, who was awake and afraid. Nikolas told him not to be as he was here for him and that he would be okay.

Back at Kelly’s, Alexis called Nathan, so he left to meet her. Silas tried to convince Kiki to hold off on the memorial for Ava until she was officially declared dead. Suddenly, Michael walked in and he, Morgan and Kiki fought over baby Avery. Michael thought he was the only one putting Avery first and told them that Sonny would never see her again, and neither would the two of them. Morgan then punched Michael, but Silas broke up the fight. Then, Michael left and Silas got a call and said he had to leave town to deal with a critical case. Kiki worried about Michael, but Morgan assured her that no judge would give Michael custody. Morgan then suggested that she focus on saying goodbye to her mom.

Back at Shadybrook, Nina was still with Franco and promised him that she wasn’t going anywhere. Then, Nathan and Alexis were shown into the room and Nina gave Nathan a hug. They then gave her the good news that the charges against her had been dropped and she was being released, pending her appearance in court. Nina thanked them both and then promised Franco that she would visit him every day. Alexis then told her that she couldn’t have contact with Franco as the courts wouldn’t look lightly on it. Nina understood and was given a moment to say goodbye to Franco. Nina was conflicted and asked Franco what she should do. Franco told "Phyllis" not to worry about it as she always figured it out.

Alexis returned to the courthouse to finalize Nina’s release. Michael arrived and she tried once again to get him to relax. She also warned Michael that if he went through with this then he may permanently sever ties with his family. Then, Carly, Sonny, and Ric walked in with baby Avery in a stroller. Alexis headed into court to deal with Nina’s hearing, leaving Michael with his family. Carly suggested Michael at least hold Avery and know what he was fighting for. She handed Avery to Michael, told him how much they all loved her, and tried to convince him to drop all of this. Suddenly, Nathan arrived with Nina for her hearing, and Nina saw Avery. Nina remembered Franco telling her that she would figure things out, so she blurted out, "It’s my baby!"

Silas enters a hospital room in New York, in which Ava appeared to be sleeping. When she woke up, he told her how well she was doing. She told him that she was glad that she could trust him. He then told her that everyone thought she was dead. Silas then explained that Sonny now had custody of her daughter and the news of the pardon didn’t go over well with Ava. Silas then added that Michael was fighting for custody of baby Avery. She was happy to hear Michael was going after Sonny, but she still wanted custody of her daughter for herself and was determined to step up. Silas then reminded her that she wasn’t well enough and was still in danger.

Nina was freaking out at the court house when she saw baby Avery. Nathan held her back as she babbled about it being her baby. Alexis tried to make her pull herself together. Michael then reluctantly handed the child to Sonny. Down the hall, Nathan tried to keep Nina calm and suggested that he take her back to Shadybrooke.

Meanwhile, Carly followed Michael into the court room and insisted that they didn't need to fight for custody, but Michael wouldn't back down. Then, the hearing began. The judge asked Michael to make his case. Michael took the stand and spoke about his shooting, the attempted murder of Dante, Kristina's kidnapping, and Sonny’s illegal activities. He then talked about how great the Quartermaines were. Ric clapped sarcastically.

Franco was startled to wake up and find someone other than “Phyllis” in his room at Shadybrooke. It was Olivia. He thought she was Momma Celeste. She explained who she was and how his mom did the same thing to her. She added that she was sure that his would will eventually get rid of the toxins, but he may get some visions before that. Then, Olivia mentioned that she was pregnant. He wondered if “Chef Boyardee” or “Papa John” was the father. As he talked to himself, she ranted about Julian being the father of her child, assuming he would never remember. As soon as she left, he stopped the act.

Meanwhile, Nathan dropped Nina off. She slipped into Franco's room and told him about her “breakdown” at the court house. She faked it so she could get back to him. He thought that was awesome and admitted that he was faking too.

Elizabeth dropped by to see Jake/Jason in his hospital room. He told her about his dream of saving her. She replied that they would find him a new lawyer and explained that she was an idiot to take Ric back and how she doubted he was really the man for her. It was clear to Jake/Jason that she loved Ric and he assured her that Ric had nothing to worry about from him. "Maybe he does," she suggested.

Nikolas accompanied Spencer to the Shriners Hospital. The doctors prepared Spencer for treatment. Nikolas was told that there would be scarring and Spencer would need extensive therapy. Left alone, Nikolas sat down with Spencer and promised that the doctors would help him through this.
