'Jimmy Kimmel Live' airs Oscars version of 'Lie Witness News' that will crack you up (Video)

Jimmy Kimmel blessed us with an Oscars edition of his popular Jimmy Kimmel Live segment Lie Witness News on Sunday night, sending his correspondent out on Hollywood Boulevard and seeing how they answer to questions about completely made up scenarios in this year’s nominates films.

The interviewees definitely put on a “fake it ‘till you make it” attitude, acting like they saw films they clearly did not see and just being completely ignorant to what they were being asked.

“With the exception of American Sniper this year's Best Picture nominees didn't make a lot of money at the box office. But, the Academy Awards is of course one of the most hyped events of the year. You hear so much about it, everyone is talking about it, so there's a lot of pressure to have an opinion about which movies and actors will win, even if you haven't seen any of them,” Kimmel started when introducing the segment.

"So, as we do from time to time, we sent a camera onto Hollywood Boulevard to ask people what they thought about some real nominated movies and about some things we made up,” Us Weekly reports.

For example, one woman said Angelina Jolie’s performance as Rosa Parks in Selma was “powerful.” Huh?

The reporter then asked a man what he thought about that “beautiful moment” when Eddie Redmayne “got up out of his wheelchair and punched Albert Enstein in the face” in The Theory of Everything.

“That was just unbelievable, I’m so glad they did that,” the man replied.

Kimmel just had to have his reporter ask, "Did you enjoy the movie I'll Lie About Anything?"
