Katy Perry will feature domestic abuse survivor Brooke Axtell during Grammys performance of 'By the Grace of God'

After Katy Perry’s Super Bowl halftime show performance, she will perform at the Grammys on Sunday. Her performance will be powerful, as she will feature a survivor of domestic abuse onstage with her.

During her performance of “By the Grace of God,” Perry will sing along to Brooke Axtell reciting her written words about surviving abuse.

The survivor of domestic violence, human trafficking and sexual assault and who is now an activist, 34, told People, "It's an honor to collaborate with Katy in this way. She has been very devoted to various aspects of female empowerment.”

She added, “It's going to bring a lot of encouragement and freedom to those who hear my story and know that they are not alone in this."

Grammys producer, Ken Erlich, had the idea to put Perry and Axtel together to do a special collaboration. He was inspired by a meeting with White House officials on the topic that he attended last year.

The Grammys will air on Feb. 8 on CBS at 8pm.
