Sarah Jessica Parker's costars for HBO pilot include Molly Shannon, Thomas Haden Church

HBO has started filling out the cast for Divorce, the new comedy pilot that will feature Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker.

Molly Shannon will co-star in the series, along with Sideway’s Thomas Haden Church and Mad Men’s Talia Balsam, confirms The Hollywood Reporter.

Parker will star in Divorce as Frances, whose single friends think she should get a divorce. However, she doesn’t think she can do it. When she learns that her husband is cheating on her, she then makes the move.

Church will star as Robert, her husband. Aside from Sideways, his credits include Ned and Stacey, Broken Trail, Wings and Easy A.

Shannon will play Diane, who has a husband and successful life, but is still Frances’ friend. She will also be appearing in Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer series.

Lastly, Balsam will star as another friend of Frances’. She played Roger Sterling’s ex-wife on Mad Men and starred in No Strings Attached.

Divorce was written by Sharon Horgan and will be produced by Parker’s Pretty Matches Productions. It will be Parker’s first big TV role since Sex and the City ended, although she did appear in Glee’s fourth season. She’s also working on a limited series called Busted.
