Tensions over NWA film 'Straight Outta Compton' are what caused Suge Knight's fatal hit-and-run (Report)

Sources close to the Suge Knight murder allegations say the upcoming Straight Outta Compton film is what’s being credited as the source of tension.

Knight was arrested on suspicion of murder after he ran over two men in the parking lot restaurant Tam's Burgers, which was located near a promotional shoot they were doing for the film. Knight was not invited or involved with the shoot in any way.

He killed his friend Terry Carter, who was reportedly the middle man between him and Dr. Dre.

The film is based on the group N.W.A, which was founded by Knight and Dre, who was at the shoot that day.

“The movie was stirring up a lot of old issues between them that had kind of dissipated. It was recreating a lot of animosity," a source told FOX411. "Suge wasn't in agreement with a lot of the script. And along with that, he has a pretty short fuse."

Another insider close to the situation confirms Knight and Dre have "been at odds for years” leading up to this.

TMZ reports Knight is claiming he was so out of it from being beat up by a group of men right before the hit-and-run that he didn’t even know he did it, not to mention his recent blood clot issues and being shot multiple times in August.
