Top 10 blind auditions from night one and two of ‘The Voice’

The Voice is back and the search is on to find the best vocal talent in America. This season features the return of Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams along with Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

For those who are new to the competition, the blind auditions are were the coaches make up their teams. They cannot see the contestants, only hear their performance, if they want the vocalist to join their team they push their buttons. If more than one coach turns around, the power switches and it is up to the vocalist to decide which team they want to be a part of during the competition.

TheCelebrityCafe.com is counting down the top ten blind auditions from the first two nights of The Voice and will be covering everything Voice related this season. The teams are already filling up and the talent level seems to be at a new high for the show. Season after season The Voice impresses with the blind auditions. 10. Meghan Linsey-Love Hurts

Meghan Linsey brought her rock ‘n’ roll soulful sound to The Voice and it wasn’t until the end that three out of the four coaches turned around. It turns out that Linsey had actually toured with Blake Shelton but he was the only coach who didn’t turn around for her. In the end she went for Team Pharrell.

9. Sarah Potenza-Stay With Me

It’s a lot of pressure starting out the blind auditions but Sarah Potenza brought her unique and gritty vocal range to the stage and her rock ‘n’ roll personality came through during her performance. She had high energy and attracted Blake, Adam, Christina and Pharrell to turn around. Making her the first four-chair performance of the night. She decided to become the first member of Team Blake.

8. Cody Wickline-He Stopped Loving Her Today

Normally it is Blake to turn around for the country artists but within the first few notes of Cody’s performance Adam had turned around for this country singer. Cody has elements of classic country music but it felt modern with how he performed the single. In the end, country went with country and Cody joined Team Blake.

7. Sawyer Fredericks-I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow

Sawyer Fredericks had to only sing a few notes of his blind auditions before Christina, Adam and Pharrell turned around. He brought in a blues and old school rock sound that transcended the stage. It was unlike anything else during night one. Blake was last coach to turn around and made this performance another four chair-turn. He ended up joining Team Pharrell.

6. Tonya Boyd-Cannon-Happy

Tonya Boyd-Cannon helped to light up the room with her blind audition of “Happy.” It is always risky taking on a coach’s song but Boyd-Cannon add her own impressive vocal range and attitude to the song. She earned a chair turn from Pharrell, Adam and Christina. Despite performing a Pharrell song, Boyd-Cannon became the next member of Team Adam.

5. Treeva Gibson-Young and Beautiful

It’s hard to take on a Lana Del Rey single but Treeva Gibson add her own elements to this powerhouse single and impressed with her subtle vocal range and ability to seamless switch keys. Blake and Christina both turned around for Gibson and she joined Team Christina.

4. Rob Taylor –I Want You

Rob Taylor brought soul and an incredible vocal range to his blind audition of “I Want You.” Within the first few notes Christina had turned around for Taylor and was closely followed by Adam and Pharrell. Taylor found his home with Team Christina and this pairing seems like a great match for this competition.

3. Blaze Johnson-How To Save A Life

During the second night of blind auditions Blaze Johnson took a Fray song and turned it in his own center stage moment. Midway through the song he really hit his stride and impressed both coaches, Adam and Blake who had turned around for Johnson. His tone was solid, clear and impressive. In the end, Johnson became the next member of Team Adam.

2. Joshua Davis-I Shall Be Released

Davis took on a Bob Dylan classic and instantly had the attention of Blake and Adam. His voice was haunting and captured the tone of a time that was long ago on the charts. It was beautiful to listen to. After much deliberation Davis became the next member of Team Blake.

1. Anthony Riley-I Got You (I Feel Good)

When you can get a four chair turn from your opening note, you have started out your career on The Voice on a high note and that is what Anthony Riley did with his rendition of “I Got You (I Feel Good).” Riley had an energy and vibe that used to be heard back in the day of James Brown but he made it come to life in 2015. With all four coaches to choose from, Riley is now a member of Team Pharrell.
