Blake Griffin could return on Sunday against the Rockets

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin could be making his return to the court very soon.

A spokesperson for the Clippers told Robert Morales of InsideSoCal.com that the former All-Star might make his return on Sunday to face the Houston Rockets. Griffin last played on Feb. 6.

"Blake Griffin could return Sunday when the Clippers host the Houston Rockets at Staples Center," wrote Morales. "If not, then Tuesday at home against the Charlotte Hornets would be the next opportunity."

Griffin has been out since undergoing surgery to remove a staph infection in his right elbow last month. In his absence, the Clippers have gone 9-5 to maintain a playoff spot in the tough Western Conference.

The possibility of Griffin coming back would provide a huge boost for the team. His 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game in the time he's played this season have helped make the Clippers a contender to make it to the NBA Finals. Griffn will be a valuable asset in Chris Paul's quest for a ring.

With or without Griffin, the Clippers will try to maintain momentum heading into the playoffs as they sit at the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 42-23 record.
