Disney expanding Soarin’ and Toy Story Mania! at Disney World

Two of the most popular attractions at Walt Disney World in Orlando are getting an expansion, which should cut down on the incredibly long wait times for both rides.

Disney Parks announced that Soarin’ at EPCOT will get an extra theater, while Toy Story Mania! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will get more midway track.

In addition, the projection system and screens at Soarin’ will be upgraded to give riders a “visually enhanced experience,” Disney said.

Soarin’ is a ride that first launched at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim before it reached Orlando. The ride takes families above California, eventually landing at Disneyland.

The expansions should be completed by late 2016, so families should be able to spend more time on rides and less time in lines.

It’s a good thing that the upgrades are underway, since it should make paying the high prices for one-day tickets more easy to digest. Last month, Disney raised the price for one-day tickets at EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom to $97 for adults and $91 for children ages 3 to 9. One-day tickets for Magic Kingdom went up to $105.
