Dr. Seuss' Top 10 books

Have you ever read Cat in the Hat? Do you know who wrote that? It was Theodor Geisel, it’s true, but the name Dr. Seuss is probably what you knew.

Today is Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel’s birthday. Born March 2, 1904, Dr. Seuss would have been 111 years old today. He is well known as a children’s book author, but his career didn’t begin there.

After graduating from Oxford University in England and wandering a bit, he settled into a long and successful career as a cartoonist, contributing to well-known magazines such as Life and Vanity Fair.

Although it was not the first book he published, he is most renowned for writing The Cat in the Hat. In addition to The Cat in the Hat, Dr. Seuss authored another 43 children’s books, which have been translated into over 15 foreign languages, as well as The Seven Lady Gadivas, which was geared toward adults.

These beginning readers are so beloved, that several have been adapted into successful television specials, major motion pictures, and Broadway musicals. So, in honor of Dr. Seuss’ incredible achievements and 111th birthday, TheCelebrityCafe.com presents ten of his top publications.
