'Fear The Walking Dead' trailer promises to show the early days of the zombie apocalypse (Video)

During the season five finale of The Walking Dead, AMC teased the first footage from Fear The Walking Dead, the companion series to cable’s most-watched scripted show.

While it only runs 15 seconds, the teaser reveals the series’ setting. It takes place in Los Angeles, which is just about to be attacked by the zombie virus. We see traffic suddenly stop, then there’s an image of a zombie walking down a dark corridor.

Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman only announced the title of the show on Friday. However, the show already got a two-season order earlier this month.

The new series has little connection to the main Walking Dead series, as none of the characters from the two shows are expected to crossover. Instead, Fear will look at the early days of the apocalypse through the eyes of a completely new set of survivors. That group is played by Cliff Curtis (Gang Related), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter), Alycia Debnam (Into The Storm) and Kim Dickens (Gone Girl).

AMC hasn’t announced a specific date yet, but Fear will launch its first six-episode season this summer.
