Hannibal Buress says he got death threats after reigniting Bill Cosby sexual abuse allegations (Video)

Hannibal Buress almost single-handedly spearheaded the multitude of sexual misconduct allegations against Bill Cosby when he brought up allegations from years ago during one of his stand-up shows last year.

The allegations were made public years before, but he definitely reignited them during his comedy tour, which began a long list of new allegations.

Buress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week and revealed he’s received death threats from people over it. Cosby has since been the subjects of various new lawsuits from several women who claim he raped and drugged them, but he hasn’t been charged with any crime to date.

"I get a lot of messages from people about it," he said, Huffington Post reports, calling it a “weird situation” all around.

“The weirdest thing about getting a death threat from a male body builder-slash-stripper on Facebook is when you click on his profile and see that you have one mutual friend," he joked. "And then having to hit your friend up and say, 'Hey man, can you tell your buddy to stop saying he's going to murder me?'"

Buress’ original comments during his show were calling Cosby “smug” and adding, “Yeah, but you raped women, Bill Cosby. So, brings you down a couple notches. I don't curse on stage. Well, yeah, you’re a rapist.”
