'Real Housewives of Atlanta' Recap: Season 7, Episode 18

Last week’s episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta ended with Nene Leakes storming out of the group therapy session. The group therapy session that she organized, by the way.

Dr. Jeff is storming behind Nene as she leaves the building where they met claiming that everyone is coming for her, picking on her. The therapist is trying to tell her she can’t leave and Nene says he should watch his license because he was siding with everyone else, letting all the other wives blame her for everything. Can we mention something for a second? Nene has given Dr. Jeff great credit for helping save her family in a time of need. Now, when the truth is being spoken, that she is a mean person, she insults him by saying that his license is not even worthy. How rude. Who in the world is Nene Leakes to make such an accusation?

The other ladies are still upstairs questioning why Nene left, of course Porsha sticks up for her and said the doctor shouldn't have brought up certain topics. Porsha is trying to have her contract renewed by being super nice to Nene. Remember Cynthia every season up until last season?

Cynthia thinks Dr. Jeff is doing a good job. Which he was. He was honestly listening to everyone’s comments. Just because everyone’s problems are with Nene, doesn’t mean he was in the wrong. When Dr. Jeff gets back he asks everyone why they think she left?

Claudia claims they all don’t wanna fight, Porsha says that isn’t true because people continue to rehash things from the past. The doctor says that is understandable because everyone is affected by different things in many different ways. Speaking of issues in the past, they ladies all mentioned issues of racism, lack of parents in their lives and being the victims of bullying.

Porsha says she doesn’t like how Kenya and Claudia claim she got her Rolls Royce from a married man, Claudia says it was because she personally was accused of being a whore and sleeping with married men.

Kenya actually apologizes to Porsha. Now the topic of discussion is Nene and the issues between Phaedra and Kandi. Kandi doesn’t understand why Phaedra is talking to the other ladies about her problems with their friendship. Kenya suggests filming a video to apologize to Nene but Kandi says she doesn’t think it will be the best idea because they might seem like ass kissers.

Next we’re back with Nene who’s rehearsing for her role in Cinderella on Broadway. She starts to vent about the therapy session with Dr. Jeff and claims she was “attacked.” Ridiculous.

Of course she then says she’s going to focus on her career and doesn’t have time to focus on the other ladies.

After Nene, we’re with Kandi, Todd, Cynthia and Peter. It’s a double date with drinks and they shooting pool before they, too, start discussing the therapy session. Kandi talks about how she didn't even want to go in the first place and admitted she didn't think it helped the group and how Nene left the session even though she set the whole thing up. They all talk about how nene can’t hear the truth without freaking out. (So true) Kandi says the whole thing with Phaedra will eventually lead to a conversation between the two and, unless Phaedra says bad stuff about her, she will always love her.

Phaedra is up next and she’s hanging out with a friend. They talk about Phaedra’s divorce and how Apollo would do anything to be mean and hurtful to Phaedra. She starts to cry and said things were terrible even though she vowed to stick by her husband through his legal situation and now she is at peace because she knows Apollo couldn’t be causing harm to others anymore.

Next we twirl over to Kenya who’s having a reading for her show. Cynthia comes in for a visit and so does her ex Leon, because he’s actually going to be a part of the show. Things are kind of off in the beginning but seem to get a bit better.

Claudia is skyping with Dr. Jeff now for personal reasons, not because of the group session. She says she thinks she’s more patient than before and that she thinks she and Porsha seemed to fix some of their problems.

Kenya and Cynthia are now shopping at Kandi’s store, TAGS. Kenya tells the ladies about Dr. Jeff suggesting they all go on a trip together to start anew, and that they will all be going to the Philippines. Kandi is hesitant but agrees to go.

Back to Phaedra who is visiting a divorce attorney, he tells her they should each leave the marriage with what they brought into it, and that the biggest issue will be her two children. Phaedra, being an attorney herself, had a prenup that covered all the financial aspects of their marriage. So she’s set with her money.

The attorney also suggests to Phaedra that her boys see both of their parents as much as possible. Phaedra claims that she wants her kids to see their father but his prison is os far away and she doesn’t want to take the time off of work, and that she won’t take her children to a place where there are murderers just to make her husband feel good. He tells her just to take the divorce slow. Considering Apollo is in prison for 8 years, I think she has enough time.

Next week is the Philippines trip. We know Nene won’t be attending for health reasons, but will Phaedra? Come back next week to find out.
