First appearing as a secretary in the 1993 film The Playboy and most recently as Helen Parker in the 2000 television movie The Last Dance, Maureen O’Hara had a long and very successful career as an actress. Her most famous film appearances were the charming Maggie McKendrick in The Parent Trap, the feisty Esmeralda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the strong-willed Mary Kate Danaher The Quiet Man, the beautiful Angharad in How Green Was My Valley and the down-to-earth Doris Walker in Miracle on 34th Street. As well as acting, O’Hara enjoyed athletics and singing. According to IMDb, one of her other great accomplishments was becoming president and CEO of Antilles Airboats, making her the first woman in the United States in charge of an airline.
