Balitmore protestor Joseph Kent arrested on live TV, many calling it a kidnapping and demanding answers

A protestor in Baltimore named Joseph Kent was arrested by the National Guard during CNN’s coverage of the riots and many are referring to it as a kidnapping.

Kent, a 21-year-old student at Morgan State University, is an active community organizer and activist.

The CNN video shows Kent being taken into custody after standing in front of police lines. A National Guard humvee then pulled up, blocking the camera’s view of what was happening. He was then arrested by several guards.

Chris Cuomo was on the scene and explained, "They drove the vehicle up and when it got close enough to create a wedge they ran out an grabbed him, pinned him against that and arrested him.”

He added, "He told all the media, you need to disperse, and then as he was walking back and forth the humvee came and they used it as an opportunity and he's been taken into custody."

According to Mashable, Kent became a local figure starting with the Michael Brown protests and many have taken to social media to call for his release while criticizing CNN for not even mentioning the arrest during their coverage.
