Beau Mirchoff to star in upcoming adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's 'Tell-Tale Heart'

Popularly known for his role as Matty McKibben on MTV’s Awkward, Beau Mirchoff is taking on a completely different role in the dark film titled Tell-Tale Lies, based on the Edgar Allan Poe classic Tell-Tale Heart.

The plot of the original short story involves a murder of a man with a clouded vulture-like eye. In the upcoming rendition, four college classmates become involved with a murder of a fellow student. When another university attendee named Camille, played by Alexa PenaVega, threatens to reveal what actually happened, the four friends plot to murder her. Looks like the vulture-eye is actually dirty secret with the potential to turn into blackmail in the modernized version of Poe’s work. Producers for the film set to release in the US on October 9 include Andrew Gernhard, Shane O’Brien, and Zack O’Brien, with Rich Lucas and Bonnie-Farley-Lucas as executive producers, according to Deadline.

The often-shirtless heartthrob gave his fans a behind-the-scenes look with an on-set photo from Connecticut that depicts the vibe of the ominous film. This fall holds added potential for the star as Mirchoff finishes off his senior year at Palos Hills High when Awkward returns August 31 on MTV.
