Dallas Police Department suspends investigation into Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib

Authorities in Dallas have announced that they are suspending an investigation into Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib and his brother for an alleged assault.

As previously reported, just last week the Dallas Police Department opened the investigation of an alleged aggravated assault involving the two siblings and other patrons at Club Luxx last Wednesday.

Reports claimed that Talib and his older brother, Yaqub, got into an altercation inside the nightclub before gunshots were allegedly fired.

After over a week of investigating though, the case has been suspended the department announced via The Dallas Morning News.

“Dallas Police Assault Detectives have been investigating an alleged offense that occurred in the early morning of April 8, 2015. This incident occurred outside a club at the 700 block of North Pearl. Detectives interviewed the Complainant, contacted witnesses and gathered evidence. Based on these interviews and the evidence currently available, this case has been suspended pending further leads.”

The 29-year-old Talib has been in the league for seven years and has also played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots.

In 2014, he signed a contract with Denver for six years at $57 million.
