Floyd Mayweather Jr. likely not posting Suge Knight’s bail despite report

A report has surfaced that after the fight of the century, Floyd Mayweather Jr. would possibly post the hefty bail for his friend, former rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight. However, a source said that is not the case.

According to TMZ, a member of Mayweather’s camp said that although Knight’s lawyer, Matthew Fletcher, said he expected the boxer to pay the $10 million for his client’s bail, a member of Money Team said that is not true.

The Los Angeles Times noted that Fletcher said he thought Mayweather would do so if he won the bout because the two are close friends.

“They’re good friends,” Fletcher said. “That’s one of his wealthiest friends.”

As previously reported, Knight is behind bars for allegedly running over and killing Terry Carter last January.

After he plead not guilty to the murder charge Thursday, Los Angeles County Judge Ronald Coen denied lowering his bail.

So now it seems that no matter what the outcome of the fight is on Saturday, Knight will remain behind bars.
