J.J. Watt announces partnership with Reebok, completes vertical box jump (Video)

Reebok announced a new deal with Houston Texans star J.J. Watt on Monday. And, just in case anyone doubted how much of beast he really is, a video of him completing a 61-inch vertical box jump in the sneakers may sell a lot of shoes.

The Houston Chronicle noted that the company teamed up with Watt for its Be More Human campaign, which is designed to push people beyond their limits to maximize their potential.

“Most of my life has been spent in a gym, on a field or wherever I could find a space to train,” the defensive end said in a statement.

“I don’t train to be the best football player, I train to be the best athlete. Period. My partnership with Reebok is centered around the goal of inspiring people to push themselves harder and farther than they ever have been before to reach their full potential. Fitness is something that should be important to every person on this planet. So join the movement and start training. It’s time to work.”

ESPN reported that since only Adidas can put logos on endorsers on the field, the shoes Watt’s wears will be unbranded during NFL games.

The 6-foot-5 or 77-inch athlete was in Reebok’s ZPump Fusions when he completed the 5 foot, 1 inch vertical leap.

The video was then posted on social media.
