Jack White announces short tour, will take 'long' break from performing when it wraps

Jack White has announced he’s taking a break from performing live for the foreseeable future. He does have a line-up of gigs scheduled in the U.S. before that happens, though.

White will tour the five states he’s never performed in during upcoming weeks. He won’t be announcing the venues until he morning of, but he’s making them extremely affordable at $3 each.

“After many years of performing in a multitude of configurations, Jack White is announcing that he will be taking a break from performing live for a long period of time,” a message on his website said on Tuesday, Toronto Sun reports.

Also in the announcement, it was revealed White will play his first full acoustic shows during this short tour. Fats Kaplin, Lillie Mae Rische and Dominic Davis will make up the “acoustic quartet.”

White will headline Coachella on Saturday, and he performed at the music festival in California this past weekend as well.
