Manny Pacquiao responds to Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s ‘reckless fighter’ jab

As boxing’s most-anticipated fight nears, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao are obviously receiving a lot of media attention and have made public, but mostly civil comments ahead of their big bout. Mayweather decided to make things a little more interesting though on Tuesday by calling his opponent a “reckless fighter.”

The Associated Press reported that while working out at a gym in Hollywood on Wednesday, Pacquiao was informed of Mayweather’s “reckless” jab and responded.

"Reckless fighter? That's how people like me and love me, because they like an exciting fight," Pacquiao said. "We call this boxing (and) boxing is more punching. We talk about punching."

As previously reported, both men are considered the best in their sport and fans will getting to see the match up the boxing world has been waiting years for on May 2. The fight is expected to be the highest-grossing bout to date with a 60/40 split in favor of Mayweather.

Pacquiao announced that he will donate a portion of his cut to fund his charitable efforts in his homeland of the Philippines.

"I cannot see them being hungry and not helping them," he said. "I'm not materialistic. ... I have to use it for the glory of the Lord, and also for my family and for helping people."

Pacquiao has a 57-5-2 record with 38 Kos, while Mayweather has a 47-0 record with 26 Kos.
