Tony Awards: 'An American In Paris,' 'Fun Home,' Bradley Cooper, Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan among nominees

The 2015 Tony Awards is going to have plenty of Hollywood power. Not only is one of the top nominated shows based on an iconic film, but several of today’s Hollywood stars are among the acting nominees. An American In Paris tied with Fun Home for the most nominations with 12 each.

Movie fans should be excited to see how their favorite big-screen stars do when competing against Broadway’s elite. American Sniper star Bradley Cooper is up for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for The Elephant Man and is competing against Bill Nighy, who starred in Skylight.

Helen Mirren, who already has an Oscar for playing Queen Elizabeth II, could win a Tony as well thanks to The Audience. Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss is up for , while Carey Mulligan was nominated for Skylight. The Affair’s Ruth Wilson is also in the mix for Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Play thanks to Constellations. (Wilson’s co-star, Jake Gyllenhaal, is out of luck.)

Ken Watanabe is up for Best Actor in Leading Role in a Musical for The King and I and his co-star, Kelli O’Hara was also nominated for Best Actress in a Musical. O’Hara will have to compete with Kristen Chenoweth of On The Twentieth Century.

Special achievement awards are going to Tommy Tune, Stephen Schwartz, original Hedwig and the Angry Inch star John Cameron Mitchell, Arnold Abramson, Adrian Bryan-Brown and Gene O’Donovan.

The 2015 Tony Awards are scheduled for June 7 on CBS.
