‘Friday’, ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ actor Reynaldo Rey dies at 75

Reynaldo Rey, an actor who appeared in such films like Friday and White Men Can’t Jump, died on Thursday. He was 75.

TMZ reported that the actor and comedian’s manager Vanzil Burke, said that Rey died from complications of a stroke he suffered late last year.

The Associated Press noted that the Oklahoma native was featured on several T.V. shows including 227, Sister, Sister and The Parent 'Hood. Some of his film credits include Harlem Nights, House Party 3, For Da Love of Money and Far Out Man.

Rey also did stand-up comedy and was a co-host on the BET show Comic View In addition, he recorded several comedy albums and videos. Most recently, he wrote and directed a play titled Hollywood P.O..

But the funny man was perhaps best known for playing Red’s dad in the 1995 hit comedy Friday, which left us all laughing.

Rey passed away at his home in Los Angeles and leaves behind his wife, daughter and two sons.
