Here's the entirety of 'Kung Fury,' the greatest '80s action movie of 2015 (Video)

Monster arcade machines. Bandanas. Flying cars with wing doors. Gravely-voiced heroes. A killer guitar soundtrack. And a plot to kill Hitler. That’s just part of what makes Kung Fury the greatest 1980s action movie made in 2015.

The entire 31-minute short is now available online, just after it was shown at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this month. Written and directed by David Sandberg, the film was completely funded through Kickstarter thanks to a viral trailer. In less than 24 hours, the film itself has gone viral with nearly 2 million views.

Kung Fury even caught the attention of David Hasselhoff, who starred in a video for the short’s theme song, “True Survivor.”

The film tells the story of Kung Fury, a cop who becomes an insanely good karate master after his partner is killed. He is then struck by lightening and bit by a cobra, giving him incredible powers.

Every aspect of the short reeks of the ‘80s, even with added video effects that make it look like you are watching a VHS tape instead of something made with HD cameras. There’s even an animated sequence later in the film.

Here’s the full short (which does feature some strong language)
