Joni Mitchell suffered brain aneurysm, is 'improving' (Report)

Singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell is still in the hospital, but is improving. She also reportedly suffered a brain aneurysm, not a stroke.

Mitchell has been hospitalized since March 31. There was a report that she was in a coma, but her reps denied that, insisting that a “full recovery” is still expected. They also said that, which she is unable to speak, she is communicating. Leslie Morris, Mitchell’s longtime friend, has been making decisions about her health.

“As we all know, Joni is a strong-willed woman and is nowhere near giving up the fight. Please continue to keep Joni in your thoughts,” her reps stated at the time.

Showbiz411, citing a friend of Mitchell's, reports that she was just moved to a rehab facility and Morris is trying to make arrangements so she can rehab at home.

A source also told Billboard that she suffered a brain aneurysm and is still in the hospital, even though Morris’ attorney said in court on May 4 that she could be released soon. Her condition is still “very serious.”

Mitchell is best known for “Big Yellow Taxi,” “Chelsea Morning,” “Woodstock,” “The Circle Game,” “Both Sides Now” and many other classics.
