Natalie Portman calls her Oscar a 'false idol,' doesn't even know where it is (Video)

Natalie Portman opened up about her Oscar in a new interview, saying she doesn’t have it displayed anywhere in her home and doesn’t plan on it.

She won the Oscar in 2010 for her role in Black Swan alongside Mila Kunis. She trained vigorously for the film and deserved every accolade.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Portman, who now lives in Paris with her husband Benjamin Millepied and their 3-year-old son Alpeh, called the Academy Award a “false idol.”

“I don’t know where it is. I think it’s in the safe or something. I don’t know. I haven’t seen it in a while,” she admitted of the award.

“I was reading the story of Abraham to my child and talking about, like, not worshipping false idols. And this is literally like gold men,” she continued. “This is literally worshipping gold idols—if you worship it. That's why it’s not displayed on the wall. It’s a false idol.”

Portman covered an array of other subjects in the interview, such as the anti-Semitic comments John Galliano made (“we’ve all done things that we regret”), saying she would be “thrilled” to have more kids and admitting being an outsider is “the only way I’ve ever known."

Portman will make her directorial debut in A Tale of Love and Darkness, which will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
