Cam Newton takes jab at Tom Brady with underinflated football joke (Video)

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton had a little fun at Tom Brady’s expense during the QB Skills Challenge at the IMG Academy on Friday.

Boston.com reported that Newton made the joke about the Patriots quarterback’s alleged involvement in Deflategate before the 7v7 National Championship by rejecting what he thought was an underinflated football.

Brady was accused of knowing that game balls used in the AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts were underinflated after a 243-page report by investigator Ted Wells was released.

The report said that it was “more probable than not” that Brady was aware of any tampering. Before the investigation was completed the quarterback denied knowing anything about underinflated footballs, Wells' report, however, disputed that.

“We believe it is unlikely that an equipment assistant and a locker room attendant would deflate game balls without Brady’s knowledge and approval,” the report noted.

Brady was suspended by the league for four regular-season games and will be
appealing that suspension to Roger Goodell on Tuesday.
