Christopher Lee, iconic horror actor and 'Lord of the Rings' star, dies at 93

British actor Christopher Lee has died at the age of 93. Lee had a career spanning over 250 movies including roles in Star Wars, Lord of The Rings and Dracula.

The Guardian reported that Lee passed away on Sunday morning at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.

An official of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in London confirmed the news and spoke about the death certificate that was issued on June 8th for Lee, AP added.

Lee started his career in film back in 1947 with a small role in Corridor of Mirrors. Soon after that debut, Lee started to work with Hammer Studios. As a result of this partnership, Lee stared in The Curse of Frankenstein and Dracula.

In the early 2000's Lee started to take on different roles that allowed him to be introduced to a wide range of new fans. He joined Peter Jackson's Lord of The Rings trilogy playing Saruman and became a part of the Star Wars prequels, as Count Dooku in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.
