Convicted Boston Marathon bomber says he’s 'sorry' for the lives he’s taken

The court heard from Dzhokhar Tsarnaev for the first time on Wednesday during his sentencing hearing.

CNN noted that the 21-year-old stood up and apologized to the victim’s families of the Boston Marathon bombing for the pain he caused and the lives he is responsible for ending.

"If there is any lingering doubt, I did it along with my brother, I ask Allah to have mercy on me, my brother and my family," Tsarnaev said.

He then said that he was sorry to the families of the victims, but never turned around to face any of them.

"I would like to now apologize to the victims and the survivors. I am sorry for the lives that I have taken."

As previously reported, Tsarnaev broke his silence on the day that the families of those victims read impact statements and were able to tell him exactly how they felt about him.

The mother of Krystle Campbell told Tsarnaev that what he did to her daughter was “disgusting.” And, the parents of 8-year-old Richard Martin said the bomber “chose hate” and “death.”

Those choices have led to a guilty verdict and will now lead to his own demise.
