Former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs to work for McDonald's

Former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs has a new career at McDonald’s.

No, he will not be flipping burgers. CNN Money reported his official title will be executive vice president and global chief communications officer. He began his work with President Obama during his first term and when he was working on his re-election campaign, Gibbs served as senior campaign advisor.

McDonald’s has recently seen poor sales and are trying to compete against their rivals, including Habit Restaurants and Shake Shack.

The new CEO of McDonald’s, Steve Easterbrook, made a new plan to turn things around for the company and did admit that when it came to the “poor” performance of the company, “the numbers don’t lie.”

In addition to Gibbs, the company is bringing in Silvia Lagnado as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Easterbrook said that the two “are both highly respected, talented leaders who will bring a wealth of experience and outside perspective to McDonald’s as we build a more modern, progressive burger company.”

As previously reported, McDonald’s has been working to make changes in order to improve sales performance and bring back customers. One of those changes was putting a limit on the chickens they used that had been raised on antibiotics so they could make healthier options for their menus.
