Fox will release a 'Fantastic Four'/'X-Men' crossover in 2018 (Rumor)

20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four reboot hits theaters this summer, and if the movie does well, a new rumor suggests the studio wants to have it crossover with the X-Men franchise.

According to Latino Review, a crossover between Fantastic Four and X-Men is being discussed for a possible 2018 release date. The studio already has a summer 2018 date planned for some sort of Marvel film, so this would make sense for that slot.

This crossover would all depend on how well Fantastic Four and X-Men: Apocalypse do, but it could be a great opportunity for Fox to get into the shared universe game. The crossover could also presumably feature other characters in the movie universe like Gambit, who's getting his own X-Men spinoff film in 2016.

For now, Fantastic Four hits theaters on August 7, 2015. It was rumored that the Josh Trank movie was going through some last minute reshoots and that Trank was hard to deal with on set, but the director denied all that, as we previously reported. Meanwhile X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
