'Game of Thrones' star Kit Harington gets role in indie 'Brimstone'

Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has found another movie role now that Jon Snow has joined the long list of deceased characters. He will star in the indie film Brimstone, which is being shot in Europe.

The film will co-star Guy Pearce, Dakota Fanning, Paul Anderson, Jack Roth, Carice van Houten and Carla Juri. As Variety points out, it was written by Martin Koolhoven (Winter in Wartime), who is also directing.

Fanning plays Liz, who is running from a diabolical preacher, played by Pearce.

Dutch production company N279 Entertainment is producing with X-Filme, Belgium’s Prime Time, Dragon Films of Sweden and France’s The Jokers. Needless to say, this is a very international production.

Filming will take place in Germany, Spain and Romania.

The film has undergone some casting changes, as E! News notes. Harington is a replacement for Robert Pattinson, while Fanning is replacing Mia Wasikowska.

Outside of Game of Thrones, Harington has starred in the box office bomb Pompeii and the next month’s HBO comedy special 7 Days In Hell. He also made the World War I romance Testament of Youth with Alicia Vikander last year.
