Raven-Symone officially named new co-host of 'The View'

The View just added one more seat to it's famous table.

Raven-Symoné has officially been named co-host of the ABC daytime talk show.

"The Disney Company has made another one of my dreams come true," Raven said in a statement. "Being a part of The View family will be a wonderful growing experience for me. The cast and crew are warm and welcoming and has made the transition into daytime talk easier."

Whoopi Goldberg made the exciting announcement that the former Disney Channel star would be joining the cast during Wednesday's show.

"We are happy to announce Raven-Symoné is now permanently part of The View," Goldberg said as Raven made a fabulous entrance onto the stage, complete with a confetti canon and cheers from the audience.

Raven expressed her excitement to join Nicolle Wallace, Rosie Perez and Whoopi Goldberg and even brought some tasty gifts for her co-hosts.

"I'm so happy. I remember coming to The View when I was 15-years-old for the first Cheetah Girls, Raven said. "I am very happy to be sitting with these smart, talented mentors."

The actress has been co-hosting the show as a guest since March 2015, notes E! News

Though Raven says she still has "a lot to learn" about being a talk show host, she is receiving an outpouring of support and congratulations from her team at ABC.

"Raven is smart, funny and genuine," said Executive Producer Bill Wolff in an official statement. "We've loved getting to know her, and we're all thrilled she'll be part of 'The View' every day. She brings a fresh perspective on the hot topics of the day, and she's a lively, welcome addition to our conversations and interviews."

Barbra Walter's also expressed her approval of the new addition to the show by saying, "Raven-Symoné is a welcome addition to The View. She is happy, amusing and well informed, and has already brought a unique perspective to the program that has resonated with our audience."
