Rumors of 'Trainspotting' sequel arise after Ewan McGregor, Danny Boyle mend friendship

The cult classic Trainspotting may hit theaters with a sequel now that Ewan McGregor and Danny Boyle have forgiven each other after years of fighting.

At the Edinburgh Film Festival, McGregor told The Scotsman that he and Boyle patched up their differences and commented that Boyle was one of the most talented directors he has ever worked with. McGregor acknowledges that he did some of his best work with Boyle.

The two friends started fighting when Boyle cast Leonardo DiCaprio instead of McGregor in the movie The Beach 14 years ago, notes The Hollywood Reporter. McGregor comments, “It’s been a long, long time. I just think I’ve changed my opinion about it. We’ve all moved on and there is a lot of water under the bridge now.”

Now that apologies have been said, speculation of Trainspotting 2 has started to surface. “I would be up for it, I’ve said that to Danny,” said McGregor. “Everybody has talked about it and speculated about it, but I don’t know if it’s happening yet. I’ve not seen a script and I don’t know if there is one.”

For years, McGregor has dismissed the rumors of working on the sequel, but now he admits that he is excited about the idea of it.

There has been talk that Boyle, screenwriter John Hodge, and producer Andrew MacDonald are currently working on an adaptation of the sequel titled Porno.
