‘Fantastic Beasts’: Alison Sudol joins ‘Harry Potter’ spinoff with Eddie Redmayne

Alison Sudol, who is better known as a singer/songwriter under the name A Fine Frenzy, will star in Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. The film already stars Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston.

Sudol is a newcomer to Hollywood, since she put her music career on pause to pursue acting. She snagged a breakout role in Amazon’s Transparent and appeared in USA Network’s Dig. Despite her inexperience, she has been linked to Fantastic Beasts before, but Variety confirmed Thursday that she has her part.

She will play Queenie. The character’s older sister, Tina, will be played by Inherent Vice’s Katherine Waterston. Newt Scamander (Redmayne) runs into them during his journey in the U.S. to find more magical beasts 70 years before Harry Potter comes around.

There are two other parts left for Warner Bros., writer J.K. Rowling and director David Yates have to fill. Kredan might be played by Ezra Miller, while Variety has reported that Josh Gad and John Krasinski are being considered for Jacob.

Fantastic Beasts will hit theaters on Nov. 18, 2016.
